I would much rather see the farmland rather than tons of homes along the road. I prefer to see land that's been untouched by people. The animals can't just keep getting relocated over and over again. I'd rather see long plains than a long golf course.

I feel like we need to keep the farmland because there are just to many people around now and the roads are just getting to crowded. We need more trees and land more than we need houses and more people.

Yeah I think we should have a couple of sub-divisions here and there. But we can't over populate Cherokee county. Its already heavily populated here in Cherokee. I think Cheroke county should have a capacity. That way we don't have about 10 million people living here in Cherokee county. I think we should keep our farmland. We already have enough stores and restraunts. I think we're doing fine for right now. Maybe when the other parts of the U.S. are over populated we should start letting people take over the farmland.

I think it should stay the way it is. it is just about right. i live right next to a construction site where they are fixing to build a closely packed neighborhood and i wish that they could at least make quieter machines than the ones they have.

I don't want to see Cherokee County turned into "Suburbia". I have grown up in Cherokee County and it has mostly been farmland. I always hated it when I saw the construction companies getting ready to build something. I guess I'm just upset to see the farmland area that was Cherokee County, be turned into nothing but subdevisions. I hate the construction companies that dong care wheather or not they destroy all the plant life in an area. HALF THE SPACE THEY USE ISNT EVEN NEEDED! Andy, I agree with you about the trees. I have a feeling that in about 10-20 years, Cherokee County will be a "suburbia".

I also agree that the Canton, Hickory Flat, and Ball Ground areas have changed a lot since I moved here (1994). When we moved in between the years of 1994-1996, there was nothing around for miles, except for the occasional gas station, then Riverstone was built.

Around the year 2001 the Hickory Flat area started to boom, at the intersection of HWY 140 and East Cherokee Drive. Today, we have all sorts of fast food restaurants, Publix, Tractor Supply, Beef O'Bradys, Advance Auto Parts, and all sorts of other stores.

I think that all of these new business' starting is a result of all the new sub divisions because of supply and demand.

I FEEL THAT THERE SHOULD BE SOME DEVELOPMENT ALONG EAST CHEROKEE, BECAUSE CHEROKEE COUNTY IS BECOMING MORE SUBURBAN AND LESS RURAL. IT IS A NICE AREA FOR HOMES. I FEEL THAT THE COMMUNITYS THAT ARE POPING UP WHERE THEY CLEAR ALL THE TREES ISN'T NEEDED THOUGH. I ALSO FEEL THAT IT SHOULD NOT BECOME THE NEXT RIVERSTONE PARKWAY OR TOWNE LAKE.

I all so think this is true MISS. Salas

As an architect, I eblieve it is my job to both design and to respect the environment. I despise developers that buy property, level it all, and build a bunch of new houses that are all super close together. That said, I do design homes for those types of neighborhoods, I just personally do not agree with the whole leveling of trees part. With E. Cherokee Drive, there are few trees - mostly farmland - so leveling is not an issue. HOWEVER, I do believe that people should respect the land, and that new homes which are built should maintain some amount of property… You should not be able to throw an egg from your front porch and hit your neighbor’s house…even though you might want to I think there should be a well-thought-out balance between homes and farmland.

YA :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

I think that it should be more on the farm side. Where I used to live there were houses on every corner and it got old. Its a whole bunch better lookingat farms and grass than the same old neighborhood over and over. After all the neighbor hoods are built the schools get over crowded and cause other schools to be built , which turns into a school like ours to split the students into the other school. If we are going to put anything in it should be restaurants stores like the person above said.
