DAVID Comments

David Norton, my past student, talked to you all a BUNCH.  I know that he told you funny stories, good stories, and to stay smart in school.  You tell me…What did you learn from him?

  1. David Rocked! I know that he told you all some serious gossip about the Salas! What did he say – he had you all laughing quite a bit!!!

  2. David Norton told us that if you go there you will barely get any sleep, you are constantly working. He said that many people don’t party alot because they are so busy. You don’t socialize much in that environment.

  3. I really liked hereing David talk. He was really helpful and helped me learn more about SPSU and what it is all about. It is also really helpful to hear him say to take school seriously, all of us have a better chance of listening to him, rather than the adults that have been telling us this since we started school.

  4. Well, I learned that even going to college for something you enjoy will still be hard since there are still things that you need to learn. Also Salas likes putting people on the spot, and begging for questions makes you look funny in public speaking arrangements.

  5. David was really cool and made college sound not as bad as I thought. I thought college was going to be all book work and be always boring. College does not seem as bad and looks a lot easier than I thought it to be.

  6. David was the Only person on the trip that talked about our high school career. I had a lot of fun talking about your trip to Italy. I agree with dustin that we all probably listened to David more than all of the adults because he can relate to us.

  7. I liked him presenting because he knew what we were doing or going to be doing in engineering class and related to what we have learned and will be learning in the class to what you will be doing in college. Also, I learned that in college you can not procrastinate on homework or projects and that they will take along time.

  8. He was really good in telling us what we were going to be doing in the future. He knows what we’re going to go through. He was very nice and seemed like he knows where we’re going in life.

  9. David said you won’t get much sleep. David also said you won’t have much of a social life other than the people that you work with.

  10. David was great. He talked to all of us, me and 9 fingered especialy, like we had been friends for years. He told us some great info about spsu and the college life there. He also shared some great information about the projects that they did and are working on. I look forward to meeting him again.

  11. David seemed like a pretty cool guy. He gave us a lot of advice in how to handle high school. Do you Hw he bascially said. He also said that if you go to archietecture school you need to learn how to drink coffee because it is the cheapest energy drin you can buy. He also said that if you chose to do Archietecture that you have to be very dedicated to your projects and do them write.

  12. I learned to not goof off in high school and to get good grades so that college will be easier. He also showed his cubes which made it easier to understand. It was cool to hear from someone who was going through this at the time we were talking to him.

  13. David Norton was a pretty cool guy he tought us about sections and how we can use those tools in are future arcitecture classes ahead of us looks like you tought him well.

  14. He showed us pretty much how the college life was. He demonstrated what he had been working on, and it was really cool that he took time away from his work to do so. Good job Salas for teaching him.

  15. David was pretty cool. He told us about the time when you went on a trip with his group to another county, and you have messed up your ankle or something. You were on painkillers and were apparently a tad loopy. :P That was pretty funny I thought.

  16. I heard David say that you don’t get much sleep. I never found that a problem when i’m doing something i like. Give me a couple Monsters and i’ll be drawing all night….

  17. He was very informational, to say the least. He gave us a better understanding of how to get in to SP and what the requirements were. He was very helpful, and cute.

  18. I liked David alot he made college and being at southern poly sound really all not that bad. I also liked some of the work he did and the things he had to say.

  19. I thought the information David gave us was really good hearing it from another student help youi more than adults cause we just tend not to listen to them. He told us what all was needed to get into SPSU. The info was really good to have.

  20. David abvously knew what we needed to do in order to suceed in life. Overall, thanks to him, Soutern Poly. is a possibility in my future.

  21. I thought David had some good info. Now I want to go there so I can do all the stuff he was talking about(models, big work-space, sleep under desk, etc…). I also noticed that he had some dirt on the Salis.

  22. I thought david was cool. He told us about what its like to be in college. He also told use how to get there. He made it clear that there was no parties and coffee is our friend.

David told us how he made it into college with a low 2.4 GPA and a love for architecture, about his friends that had taken different roads after first trying architecture, and about the hard work that pays off from actually trying in school. David finished with his friend telling us jokes about the school environment of SPSU and finally showing us around a bit.

  24. Mr. David seemed like a nice guy, he could relate to us in a way the other presentors couldn’t. He knows the struggles of highschool AND collage firsthand and he encouraged us to stay in school, and do our best. As for gossip on The Salas i didn’t hear much, except he really liked it in your class.

  25. David was cool. He made Southern Poly. seem like a fun place to go. It was better hearing things from him because he is closer to our age and could relate to us better.

  26. I did’nt really talk to David a whole bunch. I did here him say that he wishes he would have taken things more seriously in high school. Talking to the students and actually seeing what they do during a normal day was pretty cool.

  27. David was realy a cool guy. I guess i missed the Salas gossip tho. He seemed really honest when he was talking about not having a life ouside of stuido. I liked his explination on the cube project.

  28. David was pretty cool. He gave us alot of useful information about the classes and what we needed to do to get in to SPSU. He had lots of fun stories to share about class with Ms.Salas. I liked that when he explained his projects to us, he tried to put it in terms that the average person could understand, unlike the GT guy who just through out a bunch of big words.

  29. That was one funny guy but he did tell us two important things. He told us to take school very seriously and the being a college architect is very hard work.
